time .

One thing I've learned through my years of dating is that when love is beginning and love is ending the first thirty days are remarkably similar. You seem to spend all time in bed, your friends can't stand or listen to you, and you never seem to wear pants. For one it's honeymoon, for others it's the mourning period. Everyone has an opinion on how long it takes to recover from a break up: half the length of the relationship; one week for every month you were together; exactly ten thousand drinks however long that takes. But, lets face it, the only thing that can fix a broken heart, it's time! Although the last one is what really works for me.

problems .

We all have problems. Some big some small, but we all have problems. What distinguishes us is our way of dealing with them. The immediate reaction is denial, then it comes anger usually followed by depression. So, we can all go 'this just can't be happening to me', or 'why me?' or 'I'm so sad, why bother?'. Or we can jump all those stages and accept it and start figuring out the plan to solve it. What we can't do is sit around waiting for it so solve itself, or to go away. You know why? It's not going to solve on its own and it's not going away unless you do something about it. You're not going to wake up one day and roll out of bed and realize that it magically disappeared. You know what you can't do? Blame anyone or anything for your situation or problem, because when you do that, you're saying that you're powerless over you own life. A step to reclaim your life is taking responsibility. Life may deal you some bad hands, but evaluating the choices you make in response to those difficulties is critical in affecting an outcome that is more favourable to you. If you're hoping to get anywhere in life you need to distinguish the real problems from the small problems, and believe in yourself. You're smart enough to figure it out and solve your problems. And don't be afraid to try, because you know what? There is no such thing as failure, only feedback. Stop judging yourself and start recognizing it for what it is, an entry point for learning. If you're not failing then you're not really reaching and really trying. If you don't like the outcome of a situation, learn from it, make corrections and reapproach wiser and stronger until you achieve your goals. Success is in big part a matter of attrition.

have you ?

Have you ever had one of those days where nothing all that monumental happens, but by the end of it you have no idea who you are or what the hell you are doing with your life? What about two weeks?

voodoo girl

"Her skin is white cloth,
and she's all sewn apart
and she has many colored pins
sticking out of her heart.

She has a beautiful set
Of hypno-disk eyes,
The ones that she uses
To hypnotize guys.

She has many different zombies
who are deeply in her trance.
She even has a zombie
who was originally from France.

But she knows she has a curse on her,
a curse she cannot win.
For if someone gets
too close to her,

the pins stick farther in."
